Bulk Nagqu Cordyceps Buyback
A customer in To Kwa Wan sent us photos of 1.5kg of Nagqu Cordyceps. Due to immigration, they needed to sell it quickly, preferably in one go and with immediate payment.
First, examine photos for intactness, cross-section, fungal aroma, dryness, and broken cordyceps ratio. If necessary, arrange an in-person inspection. Both positive and negative aspects will be discussed face-to-face. If you're clearing a bulk quantity, remember to provide the total weight and the condition of each batch to get a more accurate initial estimate.
To get a more precise estimate, prepare the following: Don't just photograph the box of Nagqu Cordyceps. Lay out several pieces and photograph them intact, the head, and any broken sections for a much more accurate assessment.
First Step in Pricing Nagqu Cordyceps: Photos Need to Be Close-Up
Bulk goods are not priced individually; instead, we rely on sampling to assess the overall batch. For this case, we followed a three-step process:
- Randomly select 5 to 10 pieces for specification testing: Count how many pieces make up one jin (catty) to determine if they are large, medium-large, or medium cordyceps.
- Assess the dryness and fungal aroma of the entire batch: Take several small bundles to smell and feel, checking for consistency and any off-odors in the whole batch.
- Count the percentage of full-bodied pieces: How many full-bodied pieces are there, and are there any broken pieces or impurities? This directly affects whether they can be purchased uniformly at a single grade.
Out of the 12 pieces sampled from this batch, 11 met the medium-large cordyceps specification (approximately 1800 pieces/jin).
During the in-person inspection, each item will be verified against the actual product.
To Clear Bulk Stock, You Need to Pass These Hurdles
- Mixed specifications will require separate pricing for different groups.
- Origin: Nagqu is top-tier, Yushu comes second, while Xinjiang and Asian cordyceps are inferior and will not be mixed in for pricing.
This batch maintained good overall quality, with an estimated value at the higher end of recent recoveries.
