Kwun Tong Indonesian White Bird's Nest Appraisal
A customer in Kwun Tong had 12 Indonesian white bird's nests, which they had collected several years ago. They wanted to avoid the hassle of an in-person meeting initially, opting instead to send a few photos and provide an approximate weight to see if it was worth processing. After receiving the photos, we made an initial judgment based on the nest shape and color. However, photos can have color discrepancies and angles, so the true value still depends on an in-person inspection of dryness, texture, and preservation.

The initial photo assessment will focus on nest shape, texture, dryness, and any signs of brushing or bleaching. During in-person inspections, we pay special attention to: For white bird's nests, it's important to assess the thickness of the nest base and the direction of the fibers; simply photographing the front of the gift box is not very helpful. Upon inspecting the physical nests, 10 out of 12 nests were graded as special-grade, and 2 were graded as first-grade.

- Authenticity: No bleaching, brushing, or sugar spraying to add weight; only truly natural nests qualify for higher grades.
- Color and quantity of nests: Natural milky white ivory color, and a neat quantity of nests make the whole batch more valuable.
If the direction is right, we'll schedule a time, and once confirmed, settlement will be made on the spot.
