How to store fish maw?

Fish maw is a highly nutritious food, and its price is relatively high, usually reaching several hundred yuan per kilogram. It would be a great pity if fish maw were to be lost due to improper storage.

1. First, it's important to understand the storage characteristics of fish maw. The biggest threats to fish maw during storage are moisture and insect infestation. Therefore, it's recommended not to store it in the kitchen, as the humidity is high, and any place with high humidity in the house is unsuitable. Fish maw should be stored in a dry place. It can be stored in plastic or ceramic containers with a desiccant at the bottom and sealed. Alternatively, it can be placed in a rice container or sealed in a plastic bag in a dry, well-ventilated area.

2. Next, it's important to maintain good ventilation. However, some people might wonder, "Didn't we say it should be dry? Won't it get damp if I take it out to air it?" This seems contradictory, but it's not. For example, in the south, there's sometimes a humid, rainy season. In these situations, you should seal the fish maw tightly and not take it out to air it. But if the weather is hot and humid, you shouldn't keep your fish maw sealed in the container for six months or a year or two. Instead, take it out to air it and check it. Or you can take it out to sun it and let it air out.
